This day course brings you into deep connection with your own artistic practise, and also the plants who will be the muse and inspiration for the day. If you are interested in plants, the energetics of plant medicine or just interested in botanical art, or bringing your artistic practise alive this will be perfect. Previous drawing skills are not necessary as the way I teach brings everyone into contact with a way to draw that is freeing, and often surprising to to those who don’t class themselves as artists.

We will work on a large scale across the floor in charcoal and ink, and a small scale on paper.

I will be leading some directive exercises to loosen up your technique but at the same time define your ability to capture the gesture of the plant. In doing so we are often able to see into the characterisation of a plant, and also it’s medicine.

I will be drawing on the teachings of Goethe who through plant observation was able to identify key stanges of transformation. Observation is key. So, we will be looking, drawing with clear intentions and working hard. But the results are worth it - we want to make art that lives!
